Is it fungal-acne safe?
Malassezia feeds on fatty acids roughly C11–C24 and their esters. This flags every ingredient in a label that can feed it.
What this cannot tell you
- Malassezia is normal skin flora. Feeding it is only a problem if you are already reacting to it.
- The chain-length rule is a good heuristic, not a clinical test — some flagged ingredients are fine for many people.
- Fungal acne is properly malassezia folliculitis, and it is diagnosed by a clinician, not by a website.
